2012 Season - Week 20
BUMS Team of November
Thanks to the owner who pointed out, after I released the December teams last week, that I hadn’t published November’s best teams. I am deeply sorry and hope it did not ruin your enjoyment of the 2012 season. I am more contrite than Lance Armstrong and hope to make amends to you all with a full disclosure of the reasons why, on Opera next month (it was because I overdosed on Football on Thanksgiving weekend and needed to rest up after seeing 11 games in 5 days). Anyhow enough groveling, here are November’s fireworks. For the purposes of this newsletter Non BUMS players were those who were not on BUMS rosters before Trading Day 2 on November 18th, though as per last week with Injured Reserve replacements I will highlight a team that went on to sign them. Across the four weeks of November Langley Raptors were the highest scorers putting up 133 points beating Perivale Pirates (131) with the Willoughby Wolves third with 127 points. The best team of BUMS players in November scored 225 points and due to great Franchise Player spotting cost just $6m. That team is HC John Harbaugh (Baltimore & Sofa) $1m 24pts, (though Gary Kubiak of Houston & Brockley also scored 24 points but cost $2m), Kicker Matt Bryant (Atlanta & Weymouth) $0.5m 39, QB Cam Newton (Carolina & Willoughby) $0.5m 36, RBs Mikel LeShoure (Detroit & California) $0.5m 30, Arian Foster (Houston & Sofa) $0.5m 24 and receivers Jimmy Graham (New Orleans Jones & Phoenix) $0.5m 24, Mohamed Sanu (Cincinnati & Weymouth) $0.5 24pts and Brandon Marshall (Chicago & Misunderstood) $2m 24. The best Non-BUMS Team in November would have scored 222 points at a cost of $7m. Some stars on this team were picked up on Trading Day 2. They were Denver Coach John Fox by Cheryl, Tampa Bay RB Doug Martin and Dallas receiver Dez Bryant by Andy H and Green Bay Receiver Randall Cobb by Marcus. The full team breakdown can be see on the attached November Teams spreadsheet.
BUMS End of Season Dinner
To end the season our now traditional BUMS dinner will be in the evening of either Tuesday 12th or Wednesday 13th February. Marcus votes for the 12th because it is Abraham Lincoln’s 204th birthday. We are also looking at a possible new Soho venue
The Diner http://www.goodlifediner.com/locations/soho or back to Tower Hill Bodeans http://www.bodeansbbq.com/ourbranches/branches.asp?location=tower. Plenty of time to get it in the diary, please let me know which dates suit and which don’t and your preferred venue if you wish to come and we’ll go with the majority. Anyone who wants to go let me know your can and can’t do days and preferred restaurant by Superbowl Night.
